Study in Montpellier

Originally from Thailand, I wanted to continue my studies in France because the country has always attracted me, whether it is for the culture, the gastronomy, or the places to discover. My school based in Bangkok, Siam University, proposed me to do an exchange program for my master's degree in foreign languages, so I jumped at the opportunity!

Among the list of proposed cities and schools, I was immediately attracted to Paul Valéry University. I was interested in the pedagogical program, the campus, and the clubs offered. Moreover, the city of Montpellier is located in the south of France and that suits me perfectly since I am not used to the cold.

My trip to France

For my trip from Thailand to Paris, I decided to go through the airline company Bangkok Airways, I really recommend this company! The seats were comfortable, the food was delicious and the service on board listened to its passengers. I went through the price comparator proposed by Livinfrance in order to find my plane tickets at the best prices.

First days in Montpellier

After 15 hours of travel, I finally arrived in Montpellier around 9 am. My entrance to the place was at 2pm, I decided to drop my bags in a locker and explore the city. A friend of mine who lived in Montpellier recommended a very nice park to visit, the Place Royale du Peyrou. And what a surprise, the park is breathtaking. You will discover at the entrance the equestrian statue of Louis XIV, more than 3 hectares of landscaped land, and finally the aqueduct of the Saint Clément spring built-in 1753.

I also took the opportunity to walk through the district of l'écusson which is located at the entrance of the park. While walking there, I had the impression to be part of a French movie! The alleys are full of charms, the yellow stone makes the district warm and at some street corners, you can find nice places to sit and admire the view!

Accommodation in Montpellier

Time flies, I'm going to get my luggage and go to my home for my incoming inventory of fixtures. Several people I knew who had already been on an exchange program in Montpellier advised me to use Livinfrance to book my accommodation. They offer shared rooms with all charges included, and this, without a guarantor for international students! The online procedure was simple, and the information displayed was clear and precise. Moreover, an agent is present throughout the procedure to accompany you and answer your questions.

I arrived at the address given by my landlord, and we were able to do the inventory without any problem, he gave me the essential information about the apartment and some recommendations about the neighborhood. I unpacked my bags, lay down in bed, and realized that the adventure was really starting!
